Health Benefits Negotiations Updates
Los Angeles Unified has reached agreement on health benefits with all eight labor partners.

SEIU Negotiations Update
On Monday, December 1, 2025, the District’s labor team met with SEIU for negotiations. We reached tentative agreement on nine proposals, and presented new counter proposals on wages, unassigned days, and special education assistant hours.
Our next Bargaining session with SEIU has been scheduled for Friday, December 12.
UTLA Negotiations Update
On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the District’s labor team met with UTLA for negotiations. We reached tentative agreement on three proposals and presented 17 new counter proposals on a variety of topics, including wages.
On Wednesday, December 3, UTLA served the district with the declaration of impasse, which effectively shifts the negotiation process from traditional bargaining table negotiations to mediation and fact-finding, led by a third-party neutral.
